As tough as it is to go into combat, it is just as tough to come home. This was especially true for Army Sergeant First Class Jeffrey Hackett, who lost his leg to an explosive device while on a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Suffering from PTSD, Hackett was faced with the daunting task of returning to the civilian world and moving forward with his family after the tragic attack. With the help of his family, the state of New York, and Toyota, he is doing just that.

At the opening ceremony of the New York International Auto Show, Toyota presented Hackett with a brand new 2016 RAV4 Hybrid in honor of his service. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was even there to thank Hackett for his service as he gave him the keys to his new car. This specially outfitted RAV4 Hybrid was designed so that it could be operated without the use of Hackett's prosthetic limb.

Toyota hopes that this vehicle will go a long way to helping Hackett to readjust to life with his family in his hometown of Mexico, New York. We here at Phillpott Toyota are proud to be part of Toyota and salute the courageous men and women of the armed forces like Jeffrey Hackett who fight to defend our freedom each and every day.
