In today's age of technology, we virtually live and breathe it, day-in and day-out. Thus it should come to no real surprise that the connected car market is expected to generate $141 billion in revenue come year 2020. In an effort to join this booming market, and of course, free their customers from the tyranny of technology, Toyota is teaming up with Microsoft on connected cars in a partnership the two brands are calling Toyota Connected.
Since drivers can already use their infotainment systems to locate a desired location, Toyota and Microsoft want to take that one step further to deliver an even more intuitive and personalized experience. For example, say the driver is looking for a place to grab a beverage and a snack with friends, Toyota Connected would only recommend a restaurant ahead of the driver's location, rather than requiring them to turn around and back track. Toyota Connected will also learn the eating habits of the driver to deliver a more personalized experience overtime.
Toyota Connected's first product will be made available within the year, so stay tuned as we learn more.
